10 Jan Best Places to Shop Home in Minneapolis
Hey guys! I am so, so excited to be guest blogging today on the beautiful Bea’s blog. I could’t think of a better place to talk about all of our favorite places to shop home for our clients and ourselves than on Explore MPLS.
My name is Morgan Molitor and I’m the other 1/2 behind construction2style. My husband and I blog all about home renovations, design and decor. Whether it’s our own personal homes or our clients, we’re giving you all the details behind each project. Being we work with a wide array of clients, we are constantly having to adapt and conform to our client’s design styles. Which means we are constantly on the run and hunt for the best places to shop home in the Twin Cities and we’re always looking for new unique shops. And luckily, there is a lot of options. So today we wanted to chat about a handful of some of our favorite places in which we find things for our remodels, from the actual finishes we use within the project to the style and decor we finish it off with.
1330 Quincy St NE
Minneapolis, MN 55413
This one is my absolute favorite! It’s a hidden gem where we find a ton of our goods, especially for when it comes to building tables and incorporating uniques pieces into our remodels. It is a huge warehouse loaded with antiques. They have a ton of accent pieces you can incorporate into your renos such as trim, doors, staircases, bathtubs, hardware and much more.
They also have some of the best lighting pieces I have found. This gold chandelier came with our last investment property but while I was shopping at Architectural Antiques I came across the exact same lighting fixture. And there isn’t a place on the ceiling in the entire warehouse that there isn’t a light fixture- all different too. It is a great place for your lighting options!

Minneapolis, MN 55411
This is another fabulous salvage shop I recently discovered. It is seriously a home remodelers heaven! From windows to doors to fireplaces to floors, you’re going to find everything you need to create a unique design for your home remodel. It’s a warehouse filled from wall to wall and ceiling to floor with treasures. What I love about places like these is that their inventory is constantly changing as well so you never know what you might find- and best part- they’re all one of a kind! This place is very similar to Architectural Antiques but they always have different product and they’re are literally a couple miles away from one another so it’s a great area to hit up two shops in one shopping run.
4600 Olson Memorial Hwy
Golden Valley, MN 55422
If you are a modern home decor lover- like luxury living but don’t want to pay for it- get ready to poop your pants! This is a hidden gem that not many know about. It’s only open Saturdays and Sundays and if your out shopping here in the summer get ready to be standing out front in line before the doors open. It sells all the Room & Board merchandise for 1/3 of the cost. It’s insane! And so awesome.
125 N 1st St
Minneapolis, MN 55401
The Foundry is another great spot in the North Loop of Minneapolis. From kitchen to living room to the bar to the bedroom and bath, it has all the home goods you could ever dream of. Their style is very simple and clean. And makes for the best gifts! I put this mood board together for a bathroom design project and all the goods are from The Foundry. You can find the products HERE.
4414 Excelsior blvd
St. Louis Park, MN 55416
One of my favorite things about the Twin Cities is the community. We all have so much love and support for one another it’s sometimes almost makes me cry. This store is one of those places. It is a curation of work from stylists to local artists. It has an assortment of collective goods and it’s a place where you’ll for sure only be finding one of a kind pieces.
7814 Olson Memorial Hwy
Golden Valley, MN 55427
Patina is no hidden secret but it is absoloutely one of my favorite places to shop. They have multiple locations around the Twin Cities but you can usually find me in Golden Valley. I scored this adorable blue whale for our sons nursery at Patina.
366 Water Street
Excelsior, MN 55331
I absoloutely adore this store! It gives me the same feel as The Foundry. It’s super simple, clean, and I always feel so refreshed after I leave the store. I scored these adorable blue chairs for our living room from GRAY Home and love, love them. They typically don’t carry a lot of furniture but more simple decor such as candles, throws, pillows, linens and homecare.
GRAY Home is a family owned business by a mother and daughter. It’s located in the heart of Excelsior and walking distance to Maynards so it’s always fun to it a day and grab some drinks on the water afterwards.
12646 Riverdale Dr NW
Coon Rapids, MN 55448
Kirkland’s has become one of my new favorites. They recently just opened a store in Coon Rapids and I’m there for almost every bathroom remodel we do. They have the best mirrors. I just picked up 3 gorgeous large mirrors for a couple bathroom renovations we’re working on now, and I scored all three of them for under $80. And they’re are good quality and in trends. They also have a ton of home decor for a fraction of the cost. It’s a great place to do holiday shopping as they are always loaded up and you never want to spend too much money on home decor over the holidays.
The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes
12209 Elm Creek Blvd N
Maple Grove, MN 55369
This place is heaven. I was beyond excited when they opened one up in Maple Grove, just on my route home everyday! haha. World market offers an eclectic array of products from dining room furniture, to imported food, to affordable Christmas gifts. You can dress up your home with stylish decor, patterned window curtains, area rugs and decorative accent lamps. I find a ton of our staging pieces at Cost Plus. They have everything you need from kitchens to bathrooms. And…they even have specialty food items! Which always make for the best gifts.
So there you have it! Our favorite places to shop Home in the Twin Cities. Hope you can check a few of them out if you haven’t already. You’ll be sure to score your perfect pieces for you or your friends.
