When Tim and I moved to the North Loop, we were both so excited for the amount of amazing restaurants we would be surrounded by, most within walking distance. Shortly after we moved, Kado No Mise opened it's doors. We had walked by multiple times and I had heard some buzz about some of the chefs/owners, so I was excited to try it out. A few of our friends and family tried it before us (even though its right in our back yard) and gave good, yet, underwhelming reviews....

A note on who didn't win. Honorable mentions: Culvers,  Shake Shack, Matt's, Burger Jones. I'm not an elitist. Frankly, these burgers are in my honest opinion, as good as those on this list. Culvers is amazing for a fast food restaurant, Shake Shack blew my mind the first time I ate it and is now in the Mall of America, Matt's bar was good enough for Obama to visit when he was in town, and Burger Jones has awesome twists on the burger like their gyro burger I love. 5. Five...

Guest Post by Tim Brown of Hook Agency The big idea: Last time I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks and it was too extreme. I want to lose weight, but I want it to be more sustainable. Instead of just losing weight super quickly – perhaps I can do it moderately quickly and keep it off- here’s my process and how I lost 10 pounds in a month and kept it off. My solution ended up being a modified ‘Whole 30’ style diet. The whole 30 was too extreme in more ways than...

Guest post by Tim Brown, Hook Agency This is more of the result of an extreme bet that I made with some of my friends (to lose 7% of my body weight – or 15 pounds) than a ‘this is what you should do post.’ If you follow me for my digital marketing content, I should say – the moral here is figuring out what you want to do, and then taking extreme action at all costs to get there. This is how I get incredible results for my clients, and how I get...

Minnesota summers can’t be beat! People seem to come alive after the brutal Winter and fickle Spring and do everything in their power to soak up every last sunny day. Because of this I love to take mini “staycations” to fully embrace what our lovely state has to offer. For our 1st Anniversary, Tim and I spent the weekend in Wayzata. It was a perfect getaway from our busy lives in Minneapolis and felt like we were much farther away from home. We stayed at  Hotel Landing which just...

I think one of the best parts of living in Minneapolis is our ability to access cute little towns  in 20 minutes. Sometimes I love exploring a nearby Suburb and I recently took my husband on an exploration around Wayzata. Below are some of my favorite spots in the Downtown- And someday, maybe, we will be jumping off Lake Minnetonka and calling it home :) One new spot that I have yet to check out is Bellecour. I have heard incredible things about it and since it is the same Chef...

The Minneapolis winters can be brutal, but that doesn't mean Minneapolis adventures need to stop! I recently took a long walk from one end of the Minneapolis skyway system to the other, snaking in and out from the Hyatt Regency to a Parking ramp by the North Loop, hitting up little hangout spots along the way like Barnes and Noble in Downtown Mpls. Here's a map of the Minneapolis Skyways!   There are still 2 far corners I'd like to visit in this system, and I totally understand for people that...

Get your fall fix by picking your own apples at Aamodt’s Apple Farm. We recently took a trip here with my sister and brother- in-law and my adorable niece. This was such a fun family outing and I can’t wait to make this a tradition for the coming years. I love this place because you are able to wander through rows and rows apple trees and fill your bag (as well as your stomach). Isla getting her fall spirit on Afterwards we wandered to the barn to fill up on...

Eat street (Nicollet Ave from roughly 23rd-28th) is a rapidly growing neighborhood in Minneapolis and home to many independently owned restaurants. There are so many options in one area the true challenge is getting to them all. I have not been to all of them (yet) but I do have a few favorites along the block. Here are some of my favorites. Cheers and Happy Exploring!   BRUNCH: Copper Hen Kitchen- This place oozes adorable. The blueberry and cornmeal pancakes were a table favorite, and the Bloody Mary with a Bacon...
