16 Oct Wander Down Eat Street
Eat street (Nicollet Ave from roughly 23rd-28th) is a rapidly growing neighborhood in Minneapolis and home to many independently owned restaurants. There are so many options in one area the true challenge is getting to them all. I have not been to all of them (yet) but I do have a few favorites along the block. Here are some of my favorites. Cheers and Happy Exploring!
Copper Hen Kitchen- This place oozes adorable. The blueberry and cornmeal pancakes were a table favorite, and the Bloody Mary with a Bacon Blueberry cupcake garnish is the way to kick of a morning. They have so many delicious pastries and Dogwood Coffee to wash them down. I will admit, I am not much of a breakfast fan, so I prefer this place at lunchtime. But all my breakfast loving, friends and family found their scrambles and omelettes to be as delicious as this place is charming. My advice, make a reservation, as this place fills up quick. You can do so here.
Bad Waitress– This is no ordinary diner. They use local and organic ingredients to elevate classic diner dishes. With Spy House coffee and a large menu of options this place is always a sure bet. Check out the menu here.
Eat Street Social- my go to restaurant recommendation for anyone new to Minneapolis or looking for a new place to try. It has a cool laid-back vibe, but is also formal enough for a big occasion. Their Steak Tartare is out of this world, and their cocktails are thoughtfully crafted and never too sweet. They also feature fun Soda Fountain Drinks that are a great alternative to boozy beverages. Weekend reservations recommended. Book em’ here.
Glam Doll Donuts– This shop is my heaven on earth. It is warm and inviting mixed with a vintage feel that makes me want to hang out there for hours. The donuts are out of this world delicious and the flavor combinations are mind blowing. Also- they are gorgeous!! Do yourself a favor. Save room for a stop. Even if you have to share!
