Wedding Guest Style Inspiration

Yay! Jen Biswas from Paisley and Sparrow is guest posting today!  She is a busy entrepreneur, wife, and mama of one -with another coming soon 🙂 I’m thrilled that she took the time to share her wedding guest inspiration with me today- Enjoy!

Wedding season is in full swing and if you’re anything like me you’re constantly trying to find the perfect outfit for each style of wedding. To help ease a bit of the confusion as to what you should be wearing to each wedding, here are 3 outfit ideas for 3 different weddings!

First up, everyone’s favorite – black tie! Who doesn’t love the glitz and glam of a black tie affair?

Black- Tie- Wedding-Guest

If you’re heading to a black tie wedding this year keep it simple and stylish with black and gold. A long black dress in any cut that fits your body best, black or gold heels and a splash of gold jewelry

 – large statement earrings or cuff with a simple necklace is perfect. Hold your phone and lip gloss in a fun gold clutch and you’re all set!

You could also swap out the gold for diamonds (real or fake!). Big earrings or a statement choker paired with black heels and a silver clutch is all you need.

Next up, the beach wedding! I’m still dying to get invited to a destination beach wedding in some place exotic but here’s my pick for any beach wedding wherever that may be!

Keep things classy with a long and flowy floral dress – long will ensure you don’t accidentally flash someone if it happens to be windy but the flowy style will allow you to stay cool if it’s hot. Be sure your shoes are comfortable enough to walk in sand but stylish enough for a wedding. A statement clutch with simple jewelry will keep you pulled together yet not overdone for a beach wedding.

And lastly, the increasingly popular barn wedding! I love walking into a giant barn filled with café lights and vintage chandeliers to dance the night away.

Barn- Wedding- Guest

An off the shoulder dress is perfect for a barn wedding. The cold shoulder trend will keep you cool during an outdoor ceremony and the midi length will keep you warm if the night turns cool. Wear shoes that you can walk in in case you end up walking through uneven patches like wedges or shorter mules. Finish off the look with coordinating gold jewelry and a simple clutch and your all set.

With any wedding just remember to stay away from white and you’re better off being overdressed than underdressed. And have fun! Enjoy the chance to get dressed up and enjoying an evening celebrating love!
